Five students of the Academy have been awarded with the international scholarship of the Shanghai Customs College

Five students of the Academy of the State Customs Committee - second-year bachelor's student of the International Trade and Logistics program Abasov Jalal, second-year bachelor's students of the Economics program Abdullayeva Mansura and Malikzadeh Shafa, second-year bachelor's students of the Law program Mahmud Bayramov and Subkhan Garayev have been awarded with the International Scholarship of Shanghai Customs College of the People's Republic of China for the academic year 2021/2022.  With this scholarship, the students of the Academy will participate in the three-month international online program of Shanghai Customs College. The key criteria in the student selection process were their academic performance and merits, English language skills, cross-cultural communication potential, as well as gender balance.

The agenda of the international online program that started on 13th September 2021 and will continue till 25th December 2021 includes eight subjects: International Customs Management, Tariff Technology, Modern Logistics, Cross-Border E-Commerce Law, Elementary Spoken Chinese, China Customs Management, Intercultural Business Communication, and Principles of Economics. The program is materialized through the VooV platform. Students can communicate, exchange ideas, work in groups, and complete their assignments online through the WeChat platform. Necessary mechanisms have been organized by the Academy to facilitate the participation of students in the program.

Students who successfully complete the program will be awarded certificates.

Established in 1908, Shanghai Customs College is an educational institution of the General Customs Administration of the People's Republic of China, the responsible institution for strengthening the human resources of the China Customs Service in the Belt and Road Initiative, and as well as the World Customs Organization (WCO) Asia-Pacific Regional Training Center.

It should be noted that the Customs Academy organized global online/distant learning opportunities for both students and Customs officers during the Covid-19 pandemic. This is the first long-term international online/distant education opportunity offered by the Academy for its students in cooperation with the Shanghai Customs College and implemented by a foreign Customs training institution. The Academy looks forward to expanding its students’ access to such programs across the globe, as a component of the institution’s internationalization strategy.
